Materials to Make A Christmas Tree Napkin Fold
First, you need square cloth napkins to make a Christmas tree napkin fold. I recommend a 20-inch square if possible.
You can use either a solid color or a print napkin. Each will produce a unique-looking tree.
If desired, you can embellish your napkin fold with cinnamon sticks, pinecones, cranberries, etc.
Step-By-Step Napkin Christmas Tree Fold
To begin a Napkin Christmas Tree Fold, you need a square napkin approx. 20 inches or more.
Fold the napkin in half and then in half again. You should have a square at this point with 4 layers.
Next, at the open side of the folded napkin, fold down each corner leaving approx. 1/2-1 inch allowance between each fold. Refer to images below for appearance.
Once all the folds are made, hold the napkin folds in place and turn it over with the folds face down on the table.
Next, find the center of the folded edge and bring both corners over to form a point.
Once again, hold the napkin in place and turn over with the folded corners flat on the table.
Make Final Napkin Christmas Tree Folds
To make the final fold, begin at the top fold and tuck the point under the flap.
Continue down the folds until you have all but the last fold tucked under.
Finally, take the bottom of the napkin and fold upward and tuck under the previous flap.
This is what the finished Christmas Tree Napkin looks like.
Christmas Tree Napkin on Table
There are several options for displaying your Christmas Tree Napkin on your tables.
First, place the napkin in the center of your dinner plate.
Or get creative and garnish the tree with a cinnamon stick and a cranberry.
You can also place the napkin beside the dinner place and place cutlery on top.
In addition, a solid green napkin makes a perfect Christmas Tree Napkin Fold and looks great with a cinnamon stick and a pinecone topper.
Buffet Option
Every type of napkin will create a unique, decorative look on your tablescapes.
Just so you know, the print napkins used here are reversible, which makes for a great pattern combination. If you use print napkins, you will want the backside pattern appropriate for this fold.
Cutlery Pocket Napkin Fold
Another similar option is to make the napkin into a cutlery pocket.
First, untuck the bottom fold and unfold the side angles to adjust this fold.
Then turn over and fold the corners again with the bottoms even with each other.
Finally, turn over and place cutlery inside the napkin fold.
Both of these creative napkin folds are easy to make and really make for a festive table setting.
